February 2014 Dividend Update

Another month has passed and brings another opportunity to report on the progress that my dividend portfolio has been making.  It seems time is moving fast on me and with it being a limited commodity I find myself more determined each and every day to grow this income source so I can have the security of knowing I have something to fight with in case of a catastrophe.  I am overall happy with this portfolio's income in February and look forward to March which will be a monthly record for me and I hope many of you reading along.  Thank you for all the support and following along with the journey.

    1. Anonymous,

Wow sounds like you have some great investments in your portfolio. If my work income was not so small and imited or made anywhere near six figures at a job I might have done things a little differently. Some of the best companies are priced pretty high and I just can't buy the amount of shares I would like to. I started a lot of positions and also like to track and research most of the companies. A portfolio like yours has to throw off a huge amount of income likely exceeding most people's salaries. Hopefully one day I can join the club with you :)

      Thanks for your insight!

  3. Don't worry you will. The compounding power of dividend stocks are incredible over time. Best policy is to divide your stocks so that you receive about equal payouts each quarter. I have 14 stocks that pay the dividend first quarter (Jan-Apr-May-Oct), 14 second quarter and 14 third quarter.

Example my first quarter stocks are: BAX, GPC, DPS, SWY, LEG, CSCO, KRFT, SYY, BGS, KMB, GE, CMSCA, CINF, XEL.

Key is to have a good foundation.

    1. I agree Compounding is an awesome machine to build wealth over time. Monthly dividends will be great for me as long as most of them can sustain it and don't have to face too many cuts from the riskier stocks. It has not been too bad so far and hopefully the income steadily rises over time. I'm still not that old, but wish I started the dividend aspect even earlier. Those are some great names you own and most of them I've wanted to own at times.

Take care and enjoy watching those dividends roll in!

  5. Almost doubling your dividend income from February 2013 is awesome. That's some real progress that you were able to make over the last year. I'm looking forward to how March treats all of us. It should be a lot of personal best months since most companies pay out during that schedule. And I can relate to time being a precious commodity, but the good thing is that you realize that and are working your best towards gaining as much of it as you can. Keep up the good work!

    1. Passive Income Pursuit,

Thanks for stopping by! You are crushing it with the passive income over there. I am happy I am making some progress too not always as fast as I would like, but steady will win the race for us. I am grateful to have the support and happy that you will own more of your time soon. Nice to see you writing articles for SA too!

    1. CI,

Thank you! Yes it was nice receiving 2 dividends from each within days of each other. I am looking forward to learning what ARCM will price at after the spinoff and may want some more shares then the 1 for 10 deal. They took out my monthly paying COLE and now created a whole new company with a monthly dividend again! Not sure what to think, but hoping it is in shareholders best interests.
