Recent Buy

Scheduled for August 24, 2015 I purchased 1.3914 shares of The Walt Disney Company for $107.06 a share.

Disney has dropped from its recent high over $122 to its current $95.36 price. Missed out on timing the crash, but that's ok with me because I plan on holding and adding to this position long term. The company prospects are strong and it should be a great investment for me. It has already been a strong performer, but the recent selloff is a gift. I can almost encourage it to go down a little more so I can own more of the business.

  1. As a long term investor, I like Disney. I see you've been slowly accumulated shares in Disney. Hope you get another opportunity to lower your cost basis, I saw Disney dropped as low as $90 earlier today.

    Best wishes! AFFJ

    1. AFFJ,

I own Disney through their transfer agent now in a DSPP. I originally accumulated some of the stock back in 2009 on one of the internships I did. The commission is minimal and I hope to build it into a big position for the long term.

Dividend increases and a split would be nice too. The semi annual dividend move is also a step in the right direction.

  2. DIS is a bargain buy right now. I fully expect them to have a record Q4

    1. dividendsfordummies,

That drop was sharp and unwarranted for the most part. Too bad my plan has me waiting and buying a specific time of the month. It might recover some by then, but I'll buy some anyway.

One of those stocks you can DCA average year round even if pay a small premium it is worth owning a piece of this business.

    1. Dividend Freedom,

There is a lot of potential in so many areas for Disney. Any slowdown in numbers or the slightest concern can cause panic and sharp decline. That is the perfect opportunity to jump on and buy even more. It is definitely a strong company.

Thanks for stopping by and adding me to your blogroll! Happy to see your blog too.

  4. I missed the sell off, but hopefully opportunity will knock tomorrow. You're doing very well with the passive income increase. Goodluck on your journey, bro.

    1. Vivianne,

That was a quick selloff and opportunity. Hopefully we will get another chance at those sale prices again. I really like your blog and can relate by also working in healthcare.

Hope all is well over there!

  5. I still don't have DIS in my portfolio but have been reading about it more and more among the DGI bloggers in recent weeks. Of course, this market swoon is presenting us with many new buying opps not in energy nor finance.

    1. DivHut,

I am a big fan of Disney being in my portfolioand recently started investing monthly in the DSPP. I originally got the some shares in the $20's and $30's out of my check in a ESPP from them weekly.

      Thanks for stopping by!
