June 2014 Dividend Update

As we start the month of July it is time to update the income received during the month of May.  I am happy with the progress I have made so far this year.  I am falling behind on my ambitious goal of $2700 in dividends this year halfway through the year.  I still feel like I am in a good place and have a chance at reaching for this goal.  Even if I fall short I will know I am heading in the right direction as I am on pace for about a 30-35% increase year over year in dividend income.  I am encouraged and inspired by all the bloggers out there who have documented their progress.  Whether you are new to it or I have been reading for a couple years I thank everyone for their support and insight.

How was your June?  Are you on pace to hit your goals this year?

    1. Living At Home,

June is a big month for a lot of bloggers and income investors. I have a lot of monthly payers spread out across each month which psychologically feels good. Quicker compounding with DRIP and monitoring of new as well as existing positions. Great work over there looks like you are building up a pretty nice net worth and the dividends should follow as well!

      Thanks for the support!

  2. Dividend Swan,

Great month, it looks like it was a record for you. Keep up the great work. $2,700 may seem ambitious, but it is not impossible. I think its better to set challenging goals over setting a "softball" of a goal. Are you really pushing yourself if you barely have to work to achieve your goals? Each month you are receiving more than the same month in the prior quarter (April compared to January, May compared to February, June compared to March, and so on), so you are well on your way. You never know how the second half of the year will play out.

    1. Bert,

Thank you for that comment I appreciate it. I agree if you do not have to work to achieve your goals then why set them. I don't know how the second half will turn out, but at least I'll be getting more shares of stock through either purchases or DRIP frequently. We could get a pullback and those dividends and fresh capital can help us acquire more shares for cheaper prices.

I like you guys' blog name too by the way! Buckeye though? How much do you like the Michigan Wolverines sports teams, Haha!

  3. Nice month Dividend Swan! From your extensive list of companies that paid you dividends during the month of June, it certainly looks like you are very well diversified! Keep up the great work.

    1. AFFJ,

Thank you! I like how you are building your portfolio back up piece by piece as careful as you can with the markets hitting record highs. As for the all these companies I guess I don't like going more then a few days or less without receiving some dividends. So far its been beneficial for me and I still have a lot of work to do going forward to continue growing the passive income stream.

      Thanks for the encouragement!

Hope you have a great week!

Have you published your portfolio as a whole? I'm curious what stocks you hold...

    1. DL,

June was a record for a lot of DGI investors as well! I have not posted my entire portfolio on here. Maybe I will look into doing it sometime. From my dividend updates you will see the list every month is pretty long because I have a lot of repeat monthly payers. I just like having something hit my account as often as possible even if it is just a psychological thing.

Looking forward to following along with your progress!

      Take care.
