Another month has passed by and we are already halfway through another one. This has been a tough few months for a lot of companies due to being forced to shutdown and it did not help some companies. A few companies were exposed and unable to pay the full dividend rates they previously had, if they did not eliminate it altogether to save cash. Some of the stable companies were able to persevere and pay it and even grow it during this income crisis. September used to be a big month for dividends too, but some of the big ones went from a generous payout to nothing like that. Diversification in income remains important for those of us who are looking to rely on them in retirement someday.
