With the market's prolonged rally I am looking to see what has not ran up as much. I have found a few companies for my watch list. There are some $100+ stocks I'd like to add to my holdings or amount of shares I own, but are quite expensive.
I kind of wish companies like MCD or MMM would split around here and I would do my best to get more shares of these high quality and innovative companies as they will likely continue to go back higher after giving you twice as many shares.
I like the income that my BDC's and REIT's give me (mostly every single month) and have small stakes in many high quality quarterly payers. I am continuing to look for value in the market and to broadly diversify my holdings and income plays.
Any investment ideas or suggestions are welcome!
Tough question. I picked up some O and SO, both are pretty reasonable. If the market corrects or interest rates rise sharply they are likely to go down of course. I am currently watching KO, CVX, and XOM. Not exactly cheap, but they are all great companies I plan to hold for decades. While nice long term holds, they are unlikely to make you a quick buck.
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to find steals when markets are near all time highs.
KO is probably best value on your watch list for affordability right now. I have small stakes in XOM and KO. Would have been nice to have scooped up CVX when was trading cheaper. They are all great dividend growers with products people need/want!
DeleteI dont know if your into REITS as I am. I own ARCP and O both very affordable and use the monthly dividends to repurchase stocks like CVX, PG, and JNJ. I just let the dividends pool for three months and with my monthly capital added I pull the trigger I usually only invest $300 a month right now as I am trying to get out of debt. You can follow me on my blog if you wish and see what I add and when. Nice blog will add as a favorite. Have a great day and best of luck to you.

DeleteYeah I am loaded up with monthly paying REIT's however I reinvest the dividends back into them. I bought O really cheap the first time around and sold it years ago, but got back in and built it up some. I wish never sold it first time $18-$20 range, but used it to buy other great companies too! Just sad to remember having so many months of 0.01 dividends
